Through MIT’s enterprise license, faculty, staff, and students can use it at no cost. It includes OpenAI’s most advanced models, plus Codex for coding help. You get the features of ChatGPT Plus, along with added privacy and security protections for MIT work.

How to Get Access
IS&T recommends accessing ChatGPT through Parley, its platform for accessing multiple generative AI models.
- Login to Parley by going to https://parley.mit.edu/.
- Select an OpenAI frontier model.
- You’ll be redirected to ChatGPT, where you can use the model through MIT’s enterprise environment.
You can also sign in to ChatGPT using your MIT email account (@mit.edu).

MIT’s ChatGPT offering provides access to a range of AI-powered capabilities, including:
- Advanced AI models: Access to OpenAI’s GPT-6 model family, including Astra and Sol.
- Writing and research: Brainstorm ideas, summarize information, draft content, and explore research questions.

Need API access? ChatGPT Enterprise licenses do not include OpenAI API access. For API access, explore MIT’s Parley API.
Need ChatGPT Pro? MIT has secured a limited number of Pro licenses to support research activities during the current academic year. These licenses are separate from standard enterprise access. Contact IS&T to learn more about availability and how to request a license.
Privacy & Security Considerations
ChatGPT Enterprise at MIT is approved for use with research and administrative data classified as Low and Medium Risk. It offers enhanced privacy protections, including:
- Data is not used to train OpenAI’s models
- Enterprise-grade security built for institutional use
