Description
Stack AI is a no-code platform that enables the creation of AI-powered applications for teaching and learning. It allows faculty, staff, and students to build custom chatbots, simulations, and other interactive tools without coding experience. This tool is currently available for experimental use at MIT Sloan.
Who Can Use It
Faculty, staff, and students.
Canvas Integration
Yes. Custom Stack AI applications can be added to the Course Navigation Menu in Canvas.
How to Get Access
Account Eligibility and Approval Guidelines
- Intended Use: Stack AI accounts provided by Sloan Technology Services are intended for MIT Sloan faculty creating AI applications for their courses, as well as for MIT Sloan students developing AI applications as part of their coursework.
- Faculty-Requested Accounts: MIT Sloan faculty must request Stack AI accounts on behalf of their students.
- Account Limitations: Stack AI accounts are limited during this experimental phase. Approval is based on availability and individual use cases.
Privacy and Security Considerations
- Restrict data usage to low/medium risk data.
- Only use approved LLMs.
- For questions, validation of your approach, or to discuss using other LLMs, consult with MIT Sloan Technology Services Office of Information Security.
Request a Consultation and an Account
- To request a Stack AI consultation and a Stack AI account(s), complete this form.
- When filling out the form, select Request consultation on leveraging AI in your course from the Select Reason drop-down menu.
- If you are requesting accounts for students, download the CSV template, fill it with the required student information (first names, last names, MIT email addresses), and attach the completed file to the form. The student information can be copied directly from the Membership Tool in your Canvas site.
- Once your request is submitted, it will be reviewed, and you’ll receive a response within 3 business days.
- A member of the Teaching & Learning Technologies team will then schedule a 30-minute onboarding session with you and any other teaching team members who need access.
- This session will be conducted via Zoom and will cover use cases, privacy and security, how to get support, and available resources.
- During the session, you’ll be asked to log in to Stack AI using Touchstone (MIT’s Single Sign-On, SSO) and will be granted Editor access, enabling you to create AI-powered applications in the platform.
- MIT Touchstone is the Institute’s single sign-on (SSO) web authentication service that allows members of the MIT community to log in to websites and applications using their MIT Kerberos credentials.
- If you log in to Stack AI via SSO before the consultation, you’ll have Viewer access by default. Editor access will be granted during the consultation.
