How to Login to Canvas

At a Glance

Canvas is MIT’s learning management system, providing access to course materials, assignments, and other academic resources.

For best performance, use Canvas on the current or previous major release of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Students can also access Canvas through the Canvas Student app, available for Android and iOS.

This guide walks you through accessing Canvas based on your role at MIT.

MIT Students, Faculty, & Staff

1. Open your web browser and go to canvas.mit.edu.
2. Click the MIT Students, Faculty, and Staff button.
   
3. Log in using your MIT Kerberos credentials.
4. Your courses will appear on your Canvas Dashboard and the All Courses page.

  • Students: Canvas enrollments are automated based on your official registration at MIT. To confirm your enrollment, check your status in WebSIS. For more details, see the FAQ: Course Registration & Canvas Access as a Student.

MIT Alumni

1. Open your web browser and go to canvas.mit.edu.
2. Click the MIT Alumni button to authenticate via Infinite Connection.
   
3. Enter your Infinite Connection Username [1] and Password [2] and click Login [3].
   
4. Your courses will appear on your Canvas Dashboard and the All Courses page.

• Having trouble logging in? Contact the MIT Alumni Association at help@alum.mit.edu.
  • MIT Sloan Alumni must follow MIT’s process to obtain an Infinite Connection account before they can log in to Canvas. It may take up to 72 hours before the alumni can log in to Canvas after establishing their credentials.
  • Recent graduates should continue to log in using Kerberos by clicking the Student button on log in page for MIT Canvas until the July 1st following their graduation.

MIT Partners & Affiliates include individuals affiliated with MIT Sloan through various programs, offices, and strategic partnerships, such as Global Programs.

1. Open your web browser and go to canvas.mit.edu.
2. Click the MIT Partners & Affiliates button.
   
3. Log in using your Sloan account credentials.
4. Your courses will appear on your Canvas Dashboard and the All Courses page.
