At a Glance
Stack AI is a no-code platform that enables the creation of AI-powered applications. At MIT Sloan, we are piloting Stack AI to explore how generative AI can support innovation in our courses and coursework. It allows faculty, staff, and students to build custom chatbots, simulations, and other interactive tools without any coding. Access is limited during this experimental phase and granted for academic use only.
In this guide for students, you’ll learn how to get started with Stack AI, use it responsibly, and get help when you need it.
Login to Stack AI
- Go to Stack AI’s website: https://www.stack-ai.com/sso
- Enter your @mit.edu email address and click Continue.
- Login with your MIT Kerberos credentials (username and password) via MIT Touchstone (single sign-on, SSO).
Critical Reminder: Always login to Stack AI using SSO to ensure you have full access to the Enterprise account features. If you log in without SSO, you’ll be limited to a Free (basic) account.
Note: If you don’t log in with SSO, a separate, Free account will be created under your MIT email, restricting your access to the Enterprise features. If you need to migrate any projects created in a Free account, contact Stack AI for assistance.
Usage Guidelines
By using Stack AI, you agree to:
- Use the platform for academic purposes only.
- Stay within the following parameters to help manage resources fairly across the pilot:
- Runs: up to 500 per month
- Tokens: generally limited to 1 million per day
- Note: Limits may be lower for large courses to account for class size and ensure equitable access.
- Projects: up to 5 active projects at a time (archive inactive ones)
- Provide feedback through brief surveys or sessions to help improve the pilot.
Stay Organized with Your “My Projects” Folder
As an Editor, you have a private folder called “My Projects,” which is set as your default workspace. Use this folder to store and manage your projects.
Tip: You can share your entire “My Projects” folder to collaborate with others or share individual projects selectively, depending on your needs. This flexibility allows you to keep personal work private while seamlessly collaborating on specific projects when necessary.
